Wójcik Racing Team is going to debut at WorldSupersport this weekend!

 It is another world championship series, where the polish team will be present. The first round takes place on 28th February – 1st March on the Phillip Island circuit in Australia.

It is a new chapter in the history of polish motorcycle racing. Swedish rider, Christoffer Bergman, is going to play the main role in the spectacle, played during thirteen rounds on the circuits around the world. Marek Szkopek became the reserve rider. Members of Wójcik Racing Team are in Australia since couple of days to prepare for the upcoming start of the season. The mood in the polish box remains positive after two days of testing, which took place at the beginning of the week.

-Christoffer made a huge progress during this two days, what aroused enthusiasm within our supports, however we have to remember it was only testing. This time is mainly dedicated to finding right setup and getting the feeling of the bike – explains Grzegorz Wójcik, team director.-So far we have sacrificed most of the time to work on electronics and find a solution to problems with new engine management system. Apparently, this is main issue common to all the teams in the beginning of the season. We have already solved it and I am hoping everything is fairly buttoned up. We will see on Friday, once the official trainings begin. We are very optimistic and are hoping that we will arrive to Qatar with some points on our account.

Christoffer Bergman, the 29 years old rider from Sweden who works as Öhlins test driver, has a great racing experience. He has already competed in WorldSSP between 2016 and 2017.

-It feels really good to be back on the world championship paddock, I’ve spend few years in here, beginning with STK100, and Supersport later on! –says Christoffer Bergman, who will compete on Yamaha R6 with number #71. – Our team consist of experienced staff, although it will be a serious challenge and test to all of us. We are happy of our results after few days of testing, but we still need few races to feel more comfortable working together and explore our real potential. I am sure that step by step we are getting closer to perfection. So far we managed to eliminate some problems, improve results and for this moment we are satisfied with the progress of our project. My target for the first round is to gain as much experience as possible. Obviously, it would be perfect if I manage to finish in the top ten in Australia. That would be a fantastic motivation for Qatar.

The Australian round begins this Friday, 28th of February. On this day Supersport trainings take place at 1:30 and 6:00 p.m. polish time. The training on Saturday begins at 00:35 and the Superpole starts at 2:55. The Supersport race kicks off on Sunday, 3:15 polish time and will be transmitted on Eurosport2.
