After completing 649 laps, Wójcik Racing Team crossed the finish line of the 24 Hours of Bol d’Or, the final round of the FIM Endurance World Championship. Starting from pole position in the Superstock class, the #777 crew brought their Honda CBR1000RR-R home in 23rd place overall and 16th in class.
The quartet of Mateusz Molik, Jordi Torres, Nicholas Spinelli and Philipp Steinmayr arrived at Paul Ricard aiming to fight for top positions and claimed Superstock pole, but the grueling 24-hour classic had other plans. Shortly after the start, a loosened rear brake pump forced an unscheduled stop, costing several minutes and dropping the team to the back of the field.
With hopes of a front-running finish and a championship podium effectively gone, the Polish squad refused to give up. Twenty-four hours later, running at the leaders’ pace, the #777 Honda took the checkered flag after 649 laps—covering more than 3,600 kilometers—showcasing not only impressive speed but also remarkable grit and determination.
The team’s other two entries were less fortunate. The #77 crew—featuring Jurand Kuśmierczyk, Artur Wielebski and late addition Isaac Viñales, who stepped in after Kamil Krzemień was sidelined by a Tuesday practice crash—was one of the revelations of the opening half of the race. They climbed into the top ten and collected extra championship points after eight hours by running eighth. By dawn, they were a sensational sixth when a technical issue forced a heartbreaking retirement.
A similar fate befell the debuting production-class #70 Honda, shared by Sylwester Byczkowski, Sobiesław Markowski, Przemysław Jakóbczak and Piotr Fałat, which was also sidelined before the finish.
Despite the setbacks, Wójcik Racing Team closed the 2025 season with solid championship results: the #77 squad took 20th in the EWC standings, the #777 finished 10th in Superstock, and the #70 crew secured 10th in the Production class. Honda meanwhile claimed the Superstock manufacturers’ title and runner-up honors in the EWC category.
“After our recent successes in the Polish championship in Poznań, this was not the ending to the FIM EWC season we were hoping for, but that’s motorsport,” said team principal Grzegorz Wójcik. “Despite a string of misfortunes, the entire team showed once again that we are one big racing family. Neither the riders, the mechanics, nor our fans ever thought of giving up. We all fought to the very end, supporting the #777 crew to the finish. This race was exceptionally tough—21 of the 53 starters failed to finish. Even the title contenders were knocked out by problems just half an hour from the flag, underlining how unpredictable and demanding endurance racing can be. Our partnership with Honda is hugely valuable and has allowed us to spread our wings not only in Poland but also internationally. We are still at an early stage of this journey and learning every step of the way, so Bol d’Or has been an incredibly important and rewarding lesson. We’ll use that experience and come back stronger in 2026. My heartfelt thanks go to our riders, fans and partners, such as Honda and Stalco, for their unwavering support and belief in our ambitious project.”
