Polish team fields three squads for Bol d’Or finale

Wójcik Racing Team will make history at the grand finale of the FIM Endurance World Championship, the 24 Hours of Bol d’Or in France, by lining up not two, but three squads, including an all-Polish line-up in the brand-new Production category.

Wójcik Racing Team’s crews have been fighting for Superstock podiums in both eight-hour races this season, at Spa in Belgium and Suzuka in Japan, while also showing strong pace in the premier EWC class.

At Circuit Paul Ricard, the team’s established #77 and #777 entries will be joined by a third bike, the #70 Honda CBR1000RR-R, ridden by Sylwester Byczkowski, Sobiesław Markowski, Przemysław Jakóbczak and Piotr Fałat.

The quartet are well known to Polish fans, having enjoyed success in the national WMMP Championship, the European Alpe Adria series and various one-make cups. All four, however, face a triple debut: on Honda machinery, at Paul Ricard, and in a grueling 24-hour world championship race.

In the EWC class, the #77 Honda will once again be raced by experienced trio of Artur Wielebski, Jurand Kuśmierczyk and Kamil Krzemień, while the #777 Superstock entry will feature the likes of Mateusz Molik, Jordi Torres and the returning Philipp Steinmayr.

Missing from the line-up in France will be Milan Pawelec, who will compete in the European Moto2 Championship at Misano in Italy on the same weekend. Fresh from a recent victory at Motorland Aragon and Grand Prix debut, the 18-year-old has climbed to third place in the overall standings.

The Bol d’Or will start at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, 20 September, and run for 24 hours. Wójcik Racing Team has twice stood on the Bol d’Or podium, with the #77 squad finishing second in both 2019 and 2022. This year in France, the #777 crew will also be fighting for a top-three finish in the overall Superstock standings.

“During the Bol d’Or we’ll be doing something probably never seen before in the FIM EWC: fielding three squads,” says team principal Grzegorz Wójcik“We’re excited to add a team of debutants to our already experienced line-ups, and to see them take on the challenge of the new Production class. For Sylwester, Sobiesław, Przemysław and Piotr, this is a new adventure at world championship level, but they already have plenty of experience and success in the Polish WMMP series and Alpe Adria. I’m pleased that our Honda made such a strong impression on them in testing and convinced them to join us in the Endurance World Championship. The new Production class is a perfect fit for riders who want to learn from the best, gain world-class experience, and focus on racing rather than costly technical upgrades. It’s also an ideal category for our Honda CBR1000RR-R, and we’re looking forward to a strong showing from all three of our teams.”
