Technical failure eliminated Christoffer Bergman from the fight for first points in the season in World Supersport.
Since the arrival to Australia the team faced technical problems. Initially the issue concerned the engine management system, but the problem was finally solved. A technical failure occurred during the race, when Chris was riding on 13th position. – It was a very difficult weekend and too many problems. Unfortunately, we did not avoid issues during the race itself. I fell out of the track on the last corner just before the straight. The reason for that was rear tire slippage caused by hose clamp failure followed with a leakage from the cooling system. Luckily, I managed to tip the bike over safely and avoid collision with the band on this very quick section. Despite of unlucky final, I am satisfied because we’ve gained lots of experience and solved all the issues faced. I am sure we will be competitive fighting with other teams, although their strength is more advanced preparation. Most of the teams have been competing in WSSP for many years. We know now what aspects need to be improved and we will present much better during the upcoming rounds – ensures Christoffer Bergman #71.
The first round of World Supersport Championship on Phillip Island circuit in Australia shown, that the polish team is capable of fighting for the points in this series and Christoffer Bergman will be strong competitor within the riders. – We cannot influence all the factors. We have done everything we could, however the technical failure defeated us in the end. I am very satisfied with the level of work of the whole team. We work with the best and gain experience very quickly. It will be a very exciting season! – says team manager, Adam Stępień.
The next round arrives to Qatar on 13th-15th of March. – I feel much more confident on Losail International Circuit in Qatar, I know it quite well. We need to prepare the bike and we are ready to go! I would like to thank to all the team, who supported me and have done a great job! They have done everything they could to gain experience needed!
Before Christoffer departs to Qatar, he will meet polish supporters during Warsaw Motorcycle Show. Together with teammates from Wójcik Racing, he will take part in the presentation of the team on 7th of March at 4 p.m. on the main stage of the Warsaw Show.
